HVAC Estimating Fundamentals

This course guides participants through the complete estimating process, including reading mechanical drawings, performing material takeoffs, applying labor calculations, costing equipment, and preparing competitive bids. Students will work through real-world scenarios covering ductwork, piping, and equipment installations while exploring both manual and digital estimating techniques. The class emphasizes practical methods for improving bid accuracy, avoiding common estimating errors, adjusting for labor and material factors, and developing clear, professional proposals. Ideal for HVAC technicians, apprentices, estimators, and project managers seeking to sharpen their estimating skills or transition into estimating roles.

No-Show Policy for SE Journeypersons: If an SE-eligible registrant does not attend and fails to cancel at least three (3) business days in advance, the employer/member will be invoiced the full course cost.

Cancellation Policy: To cancel your registration, you must email continuinged@abcsocal.net at least three (3) business days prior to the course start date. Cancellations made after this period may not be eligible for a refund.

Refund Policy: Refunds will only be issued if a cancellation request is received via email at least three (3) business days before the course begins.

Low Enrollment Policy: ABC SoCal reserves the right to reschedule or cancel any course with insufficient enrollment. Notification of cancellation or rescheduling will be sent via email no later than 48 hours prior to the scheduled start date to both the registrant and their listed contact.

Non-Transferable Registration & No Makeup Policy: Registrations are non-transferable to other courses once confirmed. ABC SoCal does not offer make-up sessions for missed classes, regardless of the reason. Please ensure your availability before registering.

Certificate of Completion Policy: To receive a Certificate of Completion, participants must attend all scheduled class sessions in full. Partial attendance, arriving late, or leaving early will result in ineligibility for a certificate, regardless of the reason.
