EM385-1-1 24-hr. Fall Protection Competent Person w/ Rescue Awareness

This 24-hour, 3-day course takes place

  Tuesday, January 14 - Thursday, January 16, from 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM.

 

This 24-hour training is in accordance with OSHA 30, Subpart M, EM385-1-1, 29CFR 1926, California Title 8 and ANSI/ASSE Z359.2-2017 requirements covering Fall Protection.  This course includes classroom instruction in addition to the required practical hands-on training.

 

PREREQUISITES:

Before attending the course, you must have the following certifications:

  • OSHA 30 or 40-hr EM385-1-1


 TOPICS INCLUDE:

• An integrated study of Hazard Recognition and Abatement Principles related to Falls on Construction Worksites.

• Available Equipment, Equipment Use, Maintenance, Storage and Inspection Requirements to Maintain Compliance, as well as

• Basic Rescue Techniques and Emergency Action Procedures.

• The Study of Compliance Issues and Challenges Facing Safety Professionals including Mishap and Case Study Analysis, California and Federal General Safety Standards, Worksite Inspection, Interfacing with Compliance Officials, Vertical and Horizontal Standards, and Common Construction Industry Compliance Issues are also discussed.

•Lifeline Systems

 

AUTHORIZED RESCUER AWARENESS: 

Participants will gain basic understanding of rescue from fall protection equipment. Our interactive approach allows individuals to practice these new techniques in their work environment.

Our training gives your personnel exposure to industrial climbing and rescue techniques and equipment in a controlled environment specific to their job. Custom courses can be designed for specific applications such as buildings, dams, bridges, towers, amusement park rides and pipelines. This introductory course allows you and your staff to learn the fall protection rescue fundamentals that apply to your particular job description and to practice these techniques in real life situations.


IMPORTANT NOTICE:

Taking this course alone does not fulfil EM385 competent person requirements.  To fulfil EM385 competent person requirements, you will need to also have an 40-hr EM385 1-1 certification as well as OSHA 30.

  

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Anyone managing a safety program or who are responsible to be the on-site Competent Person, staff who work at heights including Safety Managers, Safety Directors, Onsite Managers, Supervisors, Section Leads and Responsible Persons.  

 

WHAT TO BRING: You must bring your personal fall protection harness with you to every class session. Doing so will provide the opportunity to learn how to properly wear your personal gear in addition to performing all the required inspections.  If your Company has other equipment you'd like to bring to class, it can be inspected as well (i.e. lifelines, lanyards, anchorages, etc.)  Bringing in some of your own gear to class will provide you with practical experience using your own equipment.
